About
Eco Mamas Global is a grassroots, not for profit organization that has been working in East Africa since 2009, earning status as a Registered Canadian Charity in 2013.

In 2024, after 15 years of dedicated work in Kenya and Uganda, we were approved to expand our Charitable Purpose and activities to include the Pacific Northwest (Vancouver Island, British Columbia) and have been working in Coast Salish Territory, namely, the Cowichan Valley -- ancestral home to the Hul’q’umi’num’ speaking people -- ever since.

Just as in Uganda, our programs in the Cowichan Valley include workshop-style, decolonizing education focused on:
🌱 Environmental sustainability and regenerative agriculture
🌾 Decolonization and unschooling
🌿 Natural medicine and holistic health

We are still working alongside local families and other BIPOC-led organizations to build regenerative, land-based, multi-age/multigenerational learning opportunities for families and kids at outdoor education centers and community learning spaces in the Cowichan Valley.
At EMG we believe the best way to do this, is together, and so we work with and welcome people from diverse backgrouds and lived experiences, where we can create the most opportunities to learn and grow.

EMG is a B3 organization (black-led, black-serving, and black-focused), dedicated to relationship building across Black-Indigneous-Settler communities.
We are committed to co-creating a future where we can leverage our privilege, learn from, and support one another towards collective change, for a more sustainable, equitable, and healthy future.

Let's do this.

Welcome Home
EMG welcomes individuals from all religious,
cultural and spiritual backgrounds,
